Ady Guzman-DeJesus lost her daughter 13-year-old Lourdes in 2012 after a 15-year-old classmate Jordyn Howe shot her on the school bus.

Jordyn brought his step-father's gun to school to show off to his friends. When he fired it at the ground, nothing happened so he turned it towards Lourdes and fired again. This time it did fire, hitting Lourdes in the the neck which lead to her death.

Initially, Ady wanted Jordyn to spend the rest of his life in prison, but then she changed her mind. She realized that he was only a child at the time of the incident and has his whole life ahead of him. So Ady did the unimaginable and reached out to hug the man who killed her daughter and agreed that his sentence should be lowered.

The agreement was that after one year in prison, Jordyn will tour across Florida with Ady, talking about the dangers of carrying weapons and sharing their story.

Ady's amazing courage and ability to forgive is not only going to change Jordyn's future, but has the potential to change the lives of everyone who hears their story.
